Since 2006, California has maintained legislature to ban driving and texting. The penalties for being caught texting or otherwise touching or using your phone while driving are steep.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety "Text messaging is banned for all drivers in 39 states and the District of Columbia..."
Its interesting to note that this last week, California Govenor Jerry Brown signed a bill, called "Freedom to Communicate" sponsored in part by the auto industry to allow the use of handsfree devices for texting and calling as long as there is .. no touching of the phone. You can touch your ear, or your steering wheel, or your car telematics... but don't touch that phone.
Now.. enter the 2013 Fiat 500L. Fiat claims this is the first standard production vehicle to offer a true espresso making machine. Bring the water.. and the car will do the rest using an integrated system manufactured by Lavazza, and using its “A Modo Mio” coffee pods.
Theres so many ways we could go with this, ("Freedom to Caffeinate", sponsored in part by the coffee industry) but we will just leave this to you, the reader to find the humor in the possibilities here - - if the espresso maker option actually makes its way to the US market. Right now its just a European release.
