Account Manager

Overview

The Account Manager position will be based in our Beverly, MA office and will be a critical role in helping grow and scale our customer-facing organization.  The Account Manager will be focused on making sure our customers are happy and successful from the time they become a customer through renewal.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts and build strong relationships with key individuals across those accounts
  • Manage contract renewal process for assigned key accounts, ultimately leading to customer growth and retention
  • Work with Sales to identify up-sell opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Coordinate with internal departments to make sure all client deliverables are met on time and to a high standard. The Account Manager will not own completion of these activities (i.e. they will not be sending out billing or providing direct technical support), they will only be responsible for working with the departments that are completing these tasks; which include but are not limited to:
    • Ensuring a smooth on-boarding process by building relationships with internal departments to ensure customer ROI/success
    • Ongoing technical support
    • Monthly billing and collections activity
  • Create annual account plans to highlight growth opportunities and risk within assigned accounts and outline key dependencies and strategies to capture those opportunities
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with all assigned clients to highlight our value-add and understand any changes in their business/market that may lead to either risk or opportunities in our relationship
  • Work with marketing on:
    • Periodic satisfaction/customer surveys
    • Building a library of customer use cases and attributions
  • Provide pre-sales support on large or strategic opportunities, as assigned by management
  • Periodic customer travel or travel for trade shows may be required
  • Other duties as determined by management

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in Sales, Customer Service or Account Management
  • Experience in software or data sales or in the auto industry

  • Outstanding relationship builder
  • Proactive in identifying potential problems and solving them
  • Must be a collaborative team player capable of building trust with both customers and internal teams
  • Organized and able to prioritize competing tasks and deliverables
  • Clear and effective communication and persuasion skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Intense passion and focus on ensuring customer satisfaction and success

Desired Attributes:

  • Experience in software/technology or data sales or in the auto industry
  • A passion for the auto industry
  • Experience aligning and influencing others where you don’t have direct authority
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Experience with Google Suite
